Professional Life

Singing is her passion, life. Yet, Madhurima realized that higher education was important to remain afloat as an individual with a separate identity. Right from the younger days since she started performing, she aimed to pursue higher studies. In achieving that, she pursued the study of Law and completed her Masters in Business law from the world famous National Law School of India University, Bangalore. In addition, she is holds a post graduate diploma in Personnel Management from National Institute of Personnel Management, Kolkata. She is, at present, working in a responsible position in a non-banking financial institution in the Legal Department.

She is one of those rare combinations who is at ease in different genres of music. She has established herself as a serious Rabindrasangeet singer yet her area of specialization remains the world of Bengali music that enthralled audiences in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Her rendition of the immortal songs by the greats like Gita Dutt, Sandhya Mukhopadhyaya, Pratima Bandopadhyay, etc, have been relived with a new dimension with her style of singing. She is proficient in all forms of singing styles, be it Tagore’s songs, Nazrulgeeti or modern forms of songs. Her audience is usually left mesmerised by her beautiful voice and its rich texture.
